1. RULES
1.1 This is a VKWC and IKA sanctioned event and will be governed by the VKWC 2015 Rule Book – provisional version.
1.2 International Sailing Federation (ISAF) regulation 19 will apply.
1.3 No National authority prescriptions will apply.
1.4 If there is a conflict between languages, the English text will take precedence.
2. EVENT AND TOUR ADVERTISING
2.1 Competitors shall wear an event advertising lycra vest supplied by the Event Organizer over all other clothing, including harness on the water at all times during the event and according to VKWC Rule 15.
3. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
3.1 Competitors may present evidence of membership in the applicable class association.
3.2 Only members of IKA or of their official National Kiteboarding Associations are eligible to compete. Exception could be made under special conditions of eligibility, i.e. through National Associations or International Classes.
3.3 International Sailing Federation (ISAF) eligibility according to ISAF Regulation 19 is required for all competitors.
3.4 Each competitor shall be pre-registered for the event by sending an email to mau@prokitetour.com with the following information: First name; last name; nationality; birth date; discipline; kite sponsor; board sponsor; other sponsor.
3.5 Freestyle pre-qualified competitors shall register and confirm their attendance at the event before May 25th 2015 by sending an email to mau@prokitetour.com.
3.6 Competitors under 18 years of age shall present a signed and completed parent or legal guardian’s consent and medical treatment permission form at registration. The forms can be downloaded from the VKWC website www.vkwc.com.
4. FEES
4.1 Online registration fee for this event is US$100 and is due by June 2nd 2015. Late registration or on-site registration will incur in an extra US$25 late fee.
5. DIVISIONS
5.1 All scheduled competitions are open to the Pro Men and Pro Women divisions.

6.1.2 The VKWV Freestyle competition will be held from Tuesday 09 June 2015 to Saturday 13 June 2015 at the Coche Paradise beach.

6.2.2 There will be Big Air Qualifiers during the main event in case the number of registered competitors exceeds 24 men and/or 12 women.
6.2.3 The VKWC Big Air event including Big Air Qualifiers will be held be held from Tuesday 09 June 2015 to Saturday 13 June 2015 at the Coche Paradise beach. The Big Air competition may be held in El Yaque in case wind conditions are more favorable.
6.3 OVERALL
6.3.1 This event results will count towards the Overall 2015 ranking
7. EVENT SCHEDULE
7.1 Registration for all competitors will be open from 14:00 to 17:00 on Monday 08 June 2015 at the VKWC Office located in the Coche Paradise Hotel.
7.2 The first mandatory competitors meeting is scheduled for 10:00 on Tuesday 09 June at the ONB located in the Coche Paradise competition beach area.
7.3 Awards Ceremony is scheduled for 17:00 on Saturday 13 June 2015 at the Coche Paradise Hotel.

8. SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
8.1 The sailing instructions will be available at the official registration time on Monday 08 June 2015.
9. VENUE
9.1 All Freestyle and Big Air events will be held at the Coche Paradise beach. The Big Air competition may be held in El Yaque in case wind conditions are more favorable.
9.2 Conditions to be expected: dominant E-ENE winds 15 – 25 knots; water temperature 20-22 ºC; air temperature 24-28 ºC.
10. COMPETITION AREAS
10.1 The Competition Area will be posted at least fifteen (15) minutes before the warning signal for the first heat of the day on the Official Notice Board.
10.2 The Competition Area is located in front of the Official Judges Tower.
11. SCORING
11.1 Event and discipline scoring shall be done according to the VKWC 2015 Rule Book – provisional version.
12. INTERNATIONAL JUDGING PANEL
12.1 An international judging panel may be appointed in accordance with VKWC Rule 10. Their decisions will be final and cannot be appealed.
13. PRIZES
13.1 Total prize money for Freestyle main event is US$32,000 and will be distributed according to VKWC Rule F5.2.
13.2 Total prize money for Big Air main event is US$15,000 and will be distributed according to VKWC Rule BA4.2.
13.3 Trophies will be awarded to top three (3) competitors in each discipline and division.
14. INSURANCE
14.1 A proof of personal medical insurance with worldwide coverage will be required at registration for each competitor. A valid membership card or certificate, or other satisfactory evidence of worldwide medical coverage may be requested.
14.2 Each competitor shall present a valid insurance certificate showing proof of third-party liability coverage of at least US$200,000 (or equivalent) per incident that should be included in the membership in the applicable class association.
15. DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY
15.1 Competitors take part in all competition at their own risk. The VKWC, IKA, ISAF or any of their officials or representatives or the sponsors or their officials or representatives are not responsible, under any circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the water either to persons or equipment, which may result.
15.2 Participation in this event, supporting events and in each heat in them is at the sole discretion of the competitor and at his/her own risk.
16. MEDIA RIGHTS
16.1 By participating in a VKWC event competitors automatically grant to the Event Organizer, VKWC and their sponsors, the right in perpetuity to make, use and show, from time to time at their discretion, any motion pictures and live, taped or filmed television and other reproductions of the athlete during the period of the competition without compensation.
16.2 Competitors may be required to carry cameras, sound equipment or positioning equipment as specified by the Event Organizer.
16.3 The top three (3) competitors as well as the individual heat winners may be required to attend a media press conference each day.
16.4 Competitors may be required for interviews during the event.
17. OFFICIAL CEREMONIES
17.1 Attendance at the first competitor’s meeting and awards ceremony is mandatory for all competitors.
18. TRAVEL INFORMATION
VKWC will offer free flights for all registered competitors from Caracas and/or Santo Domingo to Porlamar at certain dates. Please contact Mauricio Toscano at mau@prokitetour.com for further details.
19. ACCOMODATION
